Hi there,
Just a quick note to let you know that I have arrived in Palenque, and am comfortable in my cabaña here. It is wonderful to be in the jungle! Today I was awakened by the howling of howler monkeys. Oh my goodness do they make a racket! I don^t have great access to internet, so it might be a few days before I post any photos.
I have met some nice people along the way--befriended a girl from Switzerland yesterday, and a couple of Canadians. Then, today, talked for a while with a nice couple from Ireland.
I am trying to fight a nasty cold that I got just before leaving San Cristobal, so if anyone wants to send any healing energy to my throat, I would appreciate it a lot.
Update on Ryan, Jim, and Stan is that they have made it to their port destination in Guatemala, and will be waiting a few days for the alternator to get fixed. I imagine they have scouted out a place to watch the Oregon Ducks play for the national championship. That is just about to begin, as I am typing. Go Ducks!
Stay tuned for images from Palenque.
Much love to you all,
JLL
